Methodism 200 Years Of Witness, 1810-2010

Methodism 200 Years Of Witness, 1810-2010: Celebrating our Heritage of Faith and Freedom.  Verna Penn Moll & J. Wheatley, (Eds.) Tortola: Bicentennial Anniversary Committee, 2010.

The History of the East End Methodist Church, Tortola, BVI, as told by Members and Adherents.

The book was produced in gratitude for the strong arm of God upon the Church, these 200 years since the first chapel was built on the site, but it is also intended to be a  source of reference for anyone researching the history of Methodism in the Virgin Islands. Appropriately illustrated, the work is presented in three sections: Glorification, History and Development; Testimony ad Prophesy. There are seven Appendices and a Bibliography.  The production of this bicentennial commemorative book records the characters who have left their indelible mark on the making of the Church and society at East End. Their personalities: strength of character, staunchness of faith, endurance and the perseverance and compelling spirit by which they were driven to win souls for Christ, ring through the pages in a profound way.

“We are grateful for the spiritual heritage on which the Church is founded; and for the challenge to  capture the enthusiasm of our forebears in order to ‘lay hold on the things of God.’  We are reminded  that we must fulfill our calling, the crux of which must be to reach out to the hearts and souls of  our present generation and of a dying world.” (The Heritage Committee)
